Secretary who led controversial government council in the Mayor’s Office talks about stolen computers

The Secretary of the Government of Medellín, María Camila Villamizar, gave more details regarding the controversial theft of 15 computers that were in Plaza Mayor and that belong to the city’s Ministry of Finance.

The official who starred this week in a discussion with the mayor in charge Juan Camilo Restrepo assured that the perpetrators of the robbery have been identified thanks to the security cameras in that convention and exhibition center.

“Thanks to our camera system, we identified the perpetrators of the theft of 15 computers from the Ministry of Finance. Authors have prior arrest warrant for theft. Thanks to our cybersecurity system, the information is safe and hosted in the cloud and not on computers”, he assured.

The theft of these 15 devices brought criticism to the municipal administration for the possible loss of the information that was in them and that belongs to the municipal administration to the unit in charge of consolidating the city’s finances.

The suspended mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero, met the statements of the Secretary of Government and took the opportunity once more to question the local president commissioned by the National Government.

“And they were saying it was us. Did the Uribe mayor come to set up false positives?” said Quintero.

This Saturday, following learning regarding the robbery, Restrepo asked the Metropolitan Police to investigate the situation to try to recover the stolen equipment and find those responsible for this fact.

EL COLOMBIANO consulted the Medellín Mayor’s Office regarding the authors of this robbery and they only replied that the judicial process is being carried out. Although Villamizar assured that the thieves were identified, they did not report their identities.
