Reality show“Secret Story”: he admits that he is not a hermaphrodite twelve years later

“Everything was wrong. I have never been intersex.” This is the bomb dropped by a former “Secret Story” candidate this weekend on a YouTube channel specializing in reality TV.
In 2010, Thomas Vitiello participated at the age of 17 in season 4. He was better known as the gossips that he played in the house with Thomas Dubois. He was Josiane, his sidekick Brigitte. His secret? He is a hermaphrodite.
On YouTube, Thomas Vitiello says it was his best friend who suggested he sign up for the show. Together, they came up with an idea to get spotted by the casters. “In fact, to tell you the truth, with my best friend, we said to ourselves, I have always been a little androgynous. I had this kind of emo look. We said to ourselves: What will make them tilt on my profile? For TF1, he will therefore be a hermaphrodite.

“I never said to myself that I would be contacted once more for this program (…) Everything was false. I’ve never been intersex,” he says, noting that his secret should never have mentioned the term “hermaphrodite,” which he says is for animals.
By participating in “Secret Story”, Thomas Vitiello found himself caught in this huge lie and he has never spoken of it once more since his release from the House of Secrets. “I was invited to a lot of shows to talk regarding that, regarding this difference. I always said to myself: I’m not going to go there, I don’t want people to talk to me regarding it too much, because I don’t know what it’s really like to be like that. he explains.
“I regret a little now. But I was 17 at the time, I was young”, he justifies himself. As for knowing how the production fell into the trap, it’s simple: the mother of Thomas Vitiello played the game of her son and she indicated that she had kept no trace of this event too painful for her. The only proof: “We just put a little symbol on my health book.”
