Secret Kremlin poll shows Russian population no longer supports war in Ukraine

The independent Russian news site Meduza published the results of a poll commissioned by the Russian government regarding the willingness to continue the war in Ukraine. The lessons are clear: only 25% of the Russians questioned want to continue the war and 55% want to reach peace negotiations.

In October, another poll conducted by the independent institute Levada Center showed similar trends. The director, Denis Volkov, gave details of these data to Meduza. According to him, the partial mobilization announced by Putin last September was the basis of changes in mentality in the population. The war thus became more “real” in the eyes of the Russians.

Moreover, the disappointing military results of Moscow would also have accentuated this tendency.
