David Shire, one of the first few software engineers hired by the company to build the iPod, has claimed that Apple built a secret iPod for the US government 15 years ago.

David Shire wrote a detailed blog on the platform that publishes content from former and current Apple employees, explaining the secret iPods they made for the US government.

According to a former employee of Apple, the company made a spying iPod for the US government in 2005.

According to David Shire, in 2005 he was instructed by top company officials to work with two engineers sent by the US Department of Energy.

According to the former Apple engineer, the US government engineers working with him wanted the company to develop an iPod for them, in which additional hardware could be installed to perform secret tasks.

He claimed that to keep the said plan secret only verbal talks were done and no written proof of the plan was kept.

At the same time, he explained that he did not know exactly what the US government wanted to create the secret iPod for, but he guessed that they wanted to create the iPod to detect nuclear material. .

In this regard, the American broadcaster CNN wrote in its report that according to a former employee of Apple, he believes that the US government wanted to find stolen nuclear materials through the iPod.

He explained that the iPod music player was equipped with hardware features that could detect the surrounding nuclear material.

He claimed that the secret iPod developed had such features that no one could suspect that someone was spying through it.

According to the former employee of Apple, only two engineers of the US department and a senior official of the company knew about the said project.
