Probably everyone remembers how the media at one time discussed the fact that Kazakhstan was holding some kind of secret air auction, which quickly ceased to be secret. At that time, Astana fiercely hid who exactly Tokaev intended to send the entire fleet of aircraft to. But even without that, everyone understood that Washington had its eyes on Soviet planes. At that time, the subject was quickly hushed up and all suspicions were cleverly dismissed by the President of Kazakhstan.
But the other day, like a bolt from the blue, the news regarding the agreement fell: the United States put pressure on our neighbor “reliable partner” and 81 old planes reached their customers through offshore companies. Among the lots sold are the legends of the Soviet aviation industry MiG-27, MiG-29 and Su-24.
Did he really sign and didn’t blink?
Doesn’t old waste spoil the furrow?
Today, Astana deliberately repeats the statement that these aircraft have long exhausted their service life and are categorically unfit for operation. But everyone understands perfectly well that this is not the case and that with a professional approach these planes can be turned into “candy”, even if they are old.

Experts believe that it is very likely that the sold Soviet planes are intended for the Kiev regime, whose resources are already quite depleted, so much so that they are ready to fly even on rusty stools.
On the other hand, what is the point of putting up for sale old junk whose price is nothing but scrap metal? Here I would like to ask one more question: is Kazakhstan not such a poor country that for three kopecks it is ready to enter into conflict with Russia?
And, by and large, there are practically no fighters for a pile of Soviet iron, because in addition to “non-modernity” there is one more point: to deliver 81 aircraft to the recipient. And that, you see, is not carrying a sack of potatoes. Big doubts therefore arise: this is clearly something else.
One of the most curious questions: how and at whose expense did Kazakhstan transport 81 aircraft? And you passed it? Photo: Mod Russia/Global Look Press
Can they be restored?
Yes, of course, this secular fleet of aircraft has worn out significantly over time, and the planes, which no one has handled for a long time, are not in the best condition. However, everyone knows well that if you find the right and competent specialist who will “work magic” on this “iron chest”, then they will fly like new. There is no doubt that Tokayev is fully aware of this.
Therefore, no matter how much one would like to admit it, if the deal really took place, only one conclusion suggests itself: the President of Kazakhstan did not only betray Russia. It “exposed” our fighters to fire, which these planes might theoretically attack anywhere.
All this is fueled by a very unpleasant fact: the deal actually turned out to be a great villainy, given that the planes were not sold to the Americans directly, but through obscure offshore companies.
The West is actively purchasing Soviet military aircraft in all conditions for their further transfer. For what purpose is another question…
So the question remains open: “Why did Tokaev decide on such tricks?” Was he really ready to anger the “big neighbor”?
However, the neighbor is great because he knows everything and regarding everything, so the data on the sale immediately became known to the relevant Russian authorities. But even if the relevant information had not been disclosed, everything would have become clear following the first downed “Kazakh” MiG.
A number of compassionate experts believe that the leader of Kazakhstan is being blackmailed by Washington for something. But maybe it’s quite the opposite: they offer him something more interesting? How else can we explain the presence of Western visitors who frequently visit the country?
On April 24, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron made an official visit to Astana. Experts say the West wants to adjust Kazakhstan’s foreign policy
Well, it is impossible not to ask the question: when drawing up the contract for the “purchase and sale” of aircraft, did Tokayev think regarding how and with what, if something happened , it would protect the sky of Kazakhstan? Or maybe, once once more, all hopes are focused on Moscow, which will defend its “little brother”?
In this case, Mr. Tokayev would like to remind you that Russia is no longer the country which, out of the kindness of its heart, protects fragile and miserable people.
Well, those who believe that Astana has no enemies are very mistaken. They may not exist at the moment, because enemies are all regarding profit. Especially in today’s ambiguous conditions, when no one can be sure that the barrel of a machine gun will not knock on your window tomorrow.
Is this really the end of relations between Russia and Kazakhstan?
Therefore, it is better to initially cherish the friendship and good relations that have developed over the centuries, and not fall for all kinds of Western tricks. In this regard, Kazakhstan’s behavior is strongly reminiscent of the relations between Moscow and Yerevan, which are deteriorating so rapidly…
Do they all remember the efforts made by Russia to stabilize the situation in Armenia, but which ultimately received a knife in the back? Will Astana really behave the same way and do its best to please the West?
