Second Super-G added to Kvitfjell World Cup lineup, Lara Gut-Behrami in the spotlight

Kvitfjell will not host a World Cup downhill this weekend. A second super-G will, however, be organized on Norwegian snow, Saturday from 11 a.m.

The weather is definitely playing bad tricks on the best downhillers in the world. The second training session scheduled in Kvitfjell could not take place either, again due to poor visibility and snowfall, which led to the de facto cancellation of the event scheduled for Saturday.

This decision could benefit Lara Gut-Behrami in the fight for the Downhill Globe, which she has never won. The Ticino will approach the final descent of the winter, scheduled for Saturday March 23 in Saalbach, with 68 points ahead of her first valid pursuer Stephanie Venier.

The addition of a second super-G in Kvitfjell, where one of the two races canceled in Val di Fass is recovered, puts Lara Gut-Behrami under even more pressure. She is only 5 points ahead of Cornelia Hütter in the super-G World Cup, with three more races on the program, including two in Kvitfjell.
