A forest fire in Yanggu, Gangwon Province, has not been extinguished for two days.

Yes, a large wildfire that occurred in Yanggu, Gangwon-do has not been easily caught for two days.

Of the 30 fire-fighting helicopters that were tied up this morning, 10 were put back into the fire-fighting work as the haze cleared from the followingnoon.

The evolution rate, which stayed at 40% until the morning, also rose to the 63% level.

The first fire started around 3:40 pm yesterday, so the wildfire has been spreading here and there by following the wind for 21 hours, creating a 16km-long caustic line.

At one time, when the flames were heading towards a private house, residents directly grabbed a fire hose and formed a stop line to put out the fire themselves.

Most of the 50 or so residents who evacuated have returned to their homes, but some are staying in accommodations.

The forestry authorities, which issued the third stage of the forest fire, put in regarding 1,600 people, including firefighters and civil servants, today.

Currently, the wind is somewhat calm, but it is expected that it will take some time for the fire to be completely extinguished as a drying advisory has been issued throughout Gangwon, including Yanggu.

The exact area of ​​damage has not yet been confirmed, but so far the fire has spread to 621 hectares, the equivalent of 870 football fields.

Police believe that the fire spread to the mountain while burning garbage, and the police have arrested one villager and are investigating.
