During the first few minutes, people waited for the service to be restored while looking for options to return home after the workday.

At 10:00 am, the restoration of national electricity service was announced, but this did not occur. By March 11, service was gradually restored in some regions, while in other states, electricity was not even partially restored.

The government claimed that the electrical problem was due to a “cyber attack” from the United States against the Simón Bolívar Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the El Guri dam.
