This Thursday, February 15, the second application period for free tuition, scholarships and other student benefits offered by the State began. Students who enter professional institutes, technical training centers or universities this year, and those who are already pursuing a degree and do not have State aid and want to apply for free tuition, scholarships and other student benefits, will have until the 14th March to complete the Single Socioeconomic Accreditation Form (FUAS).
Interested parties must complete the Single Socioeconomic Accreditation Form (FUAS) online, available on the website www.fuas.cl. There they must mainly prove family and socioeconomic background. Then the Mineduc, through the Undersecretary of Higher Education, will validate the information and determine the level of income and compliance with other requirements established in the regulations for the granting of the different student benefits available.
The Undersecretary of Higher Education, Víctor Orellana, explained that “part of the work we are doing to guarantee access to education seeks to ensure that students are attentive to this type of calls and can complete, in this case, the FUAS. We do not want anyone to be left behind in this process; On the contrary, we want to contribute to the applicants being able to study, whether it is a university degree or a professional technical degree. We are convinced that more opportunities are needed for those entering higher education and this instance is one that should be taken advantage of. Education is a right and we continue working on that every day.”
The second application process for the FUAS has other relevant dates: on April 18, the results of the Socioeconomic Level will be available, while the results of Student Benefits will be published on May 30. The appeal period will begin on May 30 and will last until June 14 of this year. These important dates and the results of the different stages can be reviewed at www.beneficiosestudiantiles.cl and respectively.
