SECO – Unemployment insurance 2023

2024-04-19 09:36:25

The SECO newsletter from April 8, 2024 focuses on the positive unemployment insurance results for the 2023 financial year, attributed to the stability of the labor market in Switzerland. The 2023 financial year showed an impressive revenue surplus of 2.76 billion francs, with total income of 9.14 billion francs and expenses of 6.38 billion francs. This performance is reflected by a drop in the number of unemployed registered with AC, which rose to an annual average of 93,536 people, or an unemployment rate of 2.0%, compared to 2.2% in 2022.

The stability of the labor market also led to an increase in the CA’s own funds, which amounted to 6.78 billion francs at the end of 2023. However, these figures still need to be officially approved by the Federal Audit Office and the Federal Council.
