Despite his position as opener this Thursday during the 11th stage disputed in the Quart Vide desert, Sébastien Loeb (BRX) chained a fourth consecutive success on the Dakar 2023, the fifth overall, following having been in the lead in each of the crossing points. A demonstration for the Frenchman, despite a difficult stage profile for a driver more accustomed to rallying, with lots of dunes and navigation.
After the 274 km of special, covered in 2h56’14”, Loeb was ahead of Guerlain Chicherit (GCK) by 2’16” and Mattias Ekstrom, on the only Audi still in the running, by 2’26”. Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota) still assured with 5th place, 6’42” behind the winner.
In the general classification, the Qatari is still well ahead with 1h21’4″ ahead of the Brazilian Lucas Moraes (Toyota), 4th in the stage at 6’12”, who sees Loeb getting a little closer. The Frenchman is only 9’34” behind second place.
