A restaurateur from Seattle in the United States says he “lost confidence” in local authorities following being the victim of what he believes would be the 23rd break-in into his premises in three years.

“I have lost confidence in the City of Seattle, the police department, the municipal councilors and the elected officials of the state,” he said in an interview with local radio KTTH, while insisting on remaining anonymous out of fear. that his restaurant is targeted once more.

The last break-in apparently took place on February 3, when surveillance cameras captured images of a man breaking a window to enter his premises, reports the New York Post.

His actions did not activate the restaurant’s alarm system and it was only when a passerby noticed the broken window that the police were informed of the crime.

No items were reported stolen during this incident.

The man in question may have been looking for a safe which he did not find, according to the hypotheses mentioned by the police in their incident report.

The City of Seattle cut its police department’s budget in 2020, but increased it once more last year because crimes were up sharply since the cut.
