The seasonal flu vaccination campaign for the benefit of homes for the elderly was launched on Thursday in Algiers, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, as part of the national vaccination campaign for vulnerable categories.
Presiding over the launch of this campaign at the Dély Ibrahim home for the elderly, the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and the Status of Women, Kaouter Krikou, specified that “this operation is organized in coordination with the sector of Health, following the launch of the national vaccination campaign once morest seasonal flu for the benefit of vulnerable categories.
This campaign is part of “the protection of vulnerable categories once morest various diseases and the support of local health service units,” said the minister, who added that this operation will affect “not only the homes for the elderly and their staff but also remote areas. The seasonal flu vaccination campaign for the 2023-2024 season was launched last Sunday, following the acquisition by the Ministry of Health of two million doses of vaccine, intended specifically for vulnerable social categories.
In accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health, all the establishments concerned, including hospitals, local public health establishments (EPSP) and private pharmacies, to which this mission has been entrusted, will take charge of the vaccination operation, knowing that the vaccine is reimbursable by the National Social Security Fund for people with chronic and immune diseases.
