At the recent European Figure Skating Championships, Andreas Nordebäck delivered a performance that solidified his position as a top contender in European figure skating. Despite a minor stumble on his opening triple jump in the free skate, Nordebäck showcased extraordinary resilience and technical mastery. He flawlessly executed six more triple jumps, earning widespread acclaim for the remarkable quality and execution of each spin and pirouette.
“I am happy with the competition even though I had some mistakes,” Nordebäck stated after the event. “The free skate this season was the best of the season, and getting it in the European Championships feels awesome.I had hoped for a little more, but I know I have more to give, so it’s just to work on.” His performance earned him a new season-best score of 227.11 points, securing an impressive 11th place finish despite placing ninth in the free skate.
Nordebäck’s strong performance throughout the competition did not go unnoticed. It clearly caught the eye of his coach and the wider skating community. Speaking about Nordebäck’s potential, Sport Manager Anna Burwall commented, “Tonight Andreas again showed that he is one of the best skaters in Europe. He made a very strong effort at this European Championship. To take the next step and compete for the highest placements, he needs to get quadruples into his programs. He is doing them in training, and now the goal is to also perform them in competition. Andreas has all the prerequisites for continuing to develop and climb the results lists.”
Nordebäck’s dedication to advancement, coupled with his strong technical foundation, suggests a promising future in the competitive world of figure skating.
