This is good news for all Hargreeves fans. Netflix has announced that The Umbrella Academy season 3 will premiere on June 22nd. The Umbrella Academy is a live-action adaptation of the popular Eisner Award-winning comic and graphic novel series created by author Gerard Way (“My Chemical Romance”), illustrated by Gabriel Bá and published by Dark Horse Comics.
Superheroes, all of whom (understandably) are somehow beaten up, with problems and neuroses. They started at some point to clear up the death of their foster father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves. But then everything turns out very differently, the world has to be saved, there is time travel and a lot of opponents.
The Umbrella Academy has an average audience score of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes – I might agree with that, I felt really, really entertained by the characters and the story. The end of season 2 was very surprising, so it will be interesting to see what season 3 will bring. If you don’t know The Umbrelly Academy, but like crazy but well-realized series fun: You should definitely watch it!
