Season 3 initially leaves many players disappointed

The “Season of the Construct” has only been running for a few days, but it has not been well received by the Diablo 4 community. The new dungeons in particular are criticized by players because of their numerous traps. At least Blizzard has now reacted.

While Season 2 of Diablo 4 was well received by the community, there was harsh criticism from the players just a few days after the start of the third season. The current “Season of the Construct” lasts as usual for three months and brings with it a new Battle Pass. The mechanic of the season is the Seneschal, a so-called construct that can be equipped with abilities. There are also new dungeons (“vaults”). However, due to the many traps in the dungeons and the Seneschal’s lack of utility, the Diablo 4 community is disappointed with the new season.

Youtuber and streamer Raxxanterax is also dissatisfied with the new season

In one Youtube-Video Diablo 4 streamer Raxxanterax commented on his first impressions of the third season: “I’ll be honest. I’m not looking forward to playing Diablo 4 right now,” said the Youtuber. He criticizes the season mechanics because the Seneschal seems relatively useless to the streamer and many players. This is also in stark contrast to Season 2, in which special forces made vampire hordes extremely tough, but also dropped tons of loot.

The new dungeons of the third season, which are called “vaults” and are riddled with traps, are even worse for Diablo 4 players than the season mechanics. Since you have to constantly avoid the traps, the gameplay is slowed down enormously and, to make matters worse, the loot at the end of the dungeon is linked to the number of traps successfully avoided. However, defeated enemies provide no loot at all, so many players find the mechanic frustrating.

Seasons are developed alternately by two teams

The stark contrast between Seasons 2 and 3 may be due to the fact that the seasons at Blizzard are produced alternately by two different teams. Team 1 developed the first and current third seasons of Diablo 4, both of which were negatively received, while the well-received Season 2 comes from Team 2 at Blizzard. Blizzard is at least understanding and has released a first patch for Season 3, about the Golem.de reported.
