Search for prehistoric settlement in Traunkirchen

After successful investigations in recent years in front of the monastery building in Traunkirchen, underwater archaeologists from the University of Innsbruck and the board of trustees on pile dwellings will go diving once more next week in front of the Traunkirchen lake shore. This time it should be clarified whether people settled in the Bay of Winkl in the district of Traunkirchen several thousand years ago. Isolated finds point to human activities as early as the Neolithic Age.
