Under FBI supervision, police are searching for the woman’s body in a village of 3,000 people near the northern Italian city of Vicenza.
The Serbian husband of the missing woman, who was arrested in Miami in recent days, is suspected of killing his wife in order to get her inheritance. According to the FBI, the man reached his wife in Madrid on February 2, killed her and hid her body in a bag. He then traveled to Serbia by car.
Tracking dogs search for woman’s body
While driving through northern Italy, he is said to have thrown the bag containing the body in the mountainous region of Cogollo del Cengio near Vicenza. The manhunt for the body is in full swing in the area, as the Milan daily newspaper “Corriere della Sera” reported on Thursday. At the request of the Vicenza public prosecutor’s office, Mayor Piergildo Capovilla closed a road leading to the small town of Asiago. Sniffer dogs are being used to search for the woman’s body.

It was he himself who, in recent days, gave precise instructions on how to find the woman and led the investigators directly to the forest of Cogollo del Cengio.
