Australian police are continuing their ground and air search to find a Belgian who was traveling in Tasmania and has not been seen since June 17. Céline Cremer was visiting this island territory in the south of the country alone by car.

The traveler was last seen in the market town of Waratah, around 4.5 hours drive from Tasmania’s capital, Hobart, 12 days ago. The last signal from his phone was emitted on June 20, also communicated Inspector Anthea Maingay, during a press conference yesterday followingnoon. With the exception of his car, no other object has been found at this stage, added the policewoman. Everything indicates that Céline Cremer was traveling alone, said the policewoman, adding that one of the avenues explored to explain her disappearance is that the young girl got lost. “It is likely that she is lost, there is no indication that anything else is involved”added the inspector.

According to the media, >, quoted by Het Laatste Niews, the Australian police indicated, on the basis of information from medical experts, that the freezing conditions to which the traveler may be exposed in the wilderness of Tasmania are “potentially deadly” for the duration of his disappearance. Celine Cremer is an inexperienced hiker who was equipped for a light day of travel.

After three days of research, the police would have “growing concerns” regarding his well-being.
