Two days following a 4-year-old girl fell into the Mistassibi River, in Lac-Saint-Jean, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) resumed the search on Sunday in the hope of finding her body.

While the search had been interrupted at the onset of darkness, around thirty SQ police officers resumed the search at daybreak on Sunday, said Hugues Beaulieu, spokesperson for the SQ.
Just like on Saturday, the police force deployed teams of walkers and divers as well as a drone to find the little girl who sank into the watercourse on Friday.

The latter was sliding with her mother near the Motel Chute des Pères in Dolbeau-Mistassini when she passed under the protective fence and fell into the water. His mother, having witnessed the scene, had to be taken to hospital to treat nervous shock.
