Seals of Controversy Lifted: Islamabad High Court Gives Green Light to Pakhtunkhwa House

Islamabad High Court On Thursday, the Pakhtunkhwa House in the federal capital was ordered to be de-sealed.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard the provincial government’s plea against sealing the Pakhtunkhwa House, where Capital Development Authority (CDA) lawyers appeared.

Addressing the CDA counsel, Chief Justice Aamir Farooq remarked: ‘You can only proceed according to law and rule. It is a provincial house, it is a shame to seal. Don’t make it seem like you’re targeting someone.’

On which CDA’s counsel told the court: ‘There have been illegal constructions and some dues are still pending.’

Justice Amir Farooq inquired that ‘When did CDA issue notices on this?’ “The lease of KP House has expired in 2014, the first notice was given in 2014,” replied the lawyer.

On which Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that ‘a notice should have been issued even before sealing the house, if there is anything, notice it and they will see it. You could have done it according to the law. I am ordering Pakhtunkhwa House to be de-sealed.’

After which the court issued orders to the CDA Building Department to de-seal Pakhtunkhwa House. The court told CDA’s counsel: ‘I will issue a written order today, you should de-seal it.’

On October 7 of this month, Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif sealed several blocks of Pakhtunkhwa House. Assistant Commissioner Abdullah was also present with him.

The magistrate had said that ‘Pakhtunkhwa House is being sealed for violation of building rules.’

After which the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government filed an application in the Islamabad High Court, in which the stand was taken that the Pakhtunkhwa House has been illegally sealed, so the court should order the de-sealing.

Earlier on October 5, PTI workers Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur broke the police barriers and entered Islamabad under the leadership of PTI and during this there were fierce clashes in Islamabad between PTI and Islamabad Police.

Later, on reaching Islamabad, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur got out of the car at China Chowk for some time and then left for Pakhtunkhwa House, from where he was mysteriously absent for a day and reached Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Peshawar the next day. were gone
