What specific outcomes does ATEPSA hope to achieve from the current negotiations regarding working conditions and pay?
**Interview with Maria Torres, ATEPSA Spokesperson**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Maria. We appreciate you taking the time to discuss the recent developments regarding the Air Navigation Protection and Safety Technicians and Employees Association (ATEPSA).
**Maria Torres:** Thank you for having me.
**Editor:** On November 15th, it was announced that enforcement measures would be suspended on the 16th and 18th. What prompted this decision?
**Maria Torres:** The decision to suspend enforcement was made because a negotiating table was finally opened. This table includes representatives from union entities, EANA, and the Ministry of Transport. They are working together to find resolutions to the ongoing conflicts we’ve been facing.
**Editor:** It sounds like a significant step forward. Can you elaborate on what the main issues at the negotiating table are?
**Maria Torres:** Certainly. The main issues revolve around working conditions, pay, and job security for our members. We believe that constructive dialogue is essential for addressing these long-standing concerns, and we are hopeful that this negotiation will lead to positive changes.
**Editor:** Given that services are set to function normally during the suspension period, how do you foresee the temporary halt affecting public perception towards the association?
**Maria Torres:** We hope that by resuming normal operations, we can reassure the public that our priority remains safety and service integrity. We believe that open communication and progress at the negotiating table will positively influence how we are viewed, showing our commitment to both our members and the public we serve.
**Editor:** Lastly, what’s the next step from here for ATEPSA?
**Maria Torres:** We will actively participate in the negotiations over the coming days and weeks, focusing on reaching an agreement that benefits our members and the aviation community as a whole. Staying engaged and ensuring our members’ voices are heard will be our primary focus.
**Editor:** Thank you, Maria, for sharing these insights. We wish you and ATEPSA the best in your negotiations.
**Maria Torres:** Thank you! We appreciate your support.
