The pilot Martín Scuncio together with his navigator José Luis Díaz prevailed in the Saturday session of the Copec RallyMobil de Quillón and they hope, this Sunday, to close on the top of the podium.
With an advantage, the pilot Martín Scuncio arrives this Sunday along with his navigator José Luis Díaz, looking for his first victory in the RC2 PRO category on this fourth date of the RallyMobil in the Ñuble region.
The Argentines reached a momentary first place at the close of the Saturday session, with a time of 41 minutes and 8 seconds.
A round race for Scuncio who last date had problems with the vehicle losing the lead and being out of competition.
While Alberto Heller with his co-driver Luis Allende, are in second place with a time of 41 minutes and 13 seconds, a difference of 5.3 seconds from the leaders, in a sample the competition is tight.
In third place are Pedro Heller with Pablo Olmos, 31.2 seconds away from the first, while the fourth position is for Jorge “Maravilla” Martínez and Alberto Álvarez, who suffered technical problems on the route.
Regarding his good performance on this first day of the fourth date, Martín Scuncio said he was happy and that there is still a lot to play for. “Obviously there’s still tomorrow, there’s a lot left, but I’m happy because we made a great progress in the first stage that was more or less difficult for us, we were able to reverse the situation to win the day, these are important points”.
“We are still very close to Alberto Heller, but tomorrow we are going to go out with everything to try to maintain the first position,” added the trans-Andean.
For his part, the Chilean pilot Alberto Heller mentioned that he will go for everything this Sunday. “Accelerating is the key, we have the
goal of staying on track without making any mistakes, so as long as we’re in the 98% margin we’re keeping well,” he explained.
“I think that Martín is giving it his all and well, taking risks brings its consequences, so let’s see what happens tomorrow,” he added.
His brother and teammate, Pedro Heller, is positive and highlights the presence of the Joker Rally Team on the podium. “We’re happy, clearly from a result point of view we’re fine, with two cars in the podium points today, and I think we’re having a good race. Today we add points and they are already saved in the account, hoping tomorrow to go out with a higher rhythm”-
Record that the competition resumes this Sunday at 08:45 in the morning, in the Puente Paredones sector with a route of 14.42 kilometers. Last day of this fourth date where the winner of this edition of the Mobil Rally will be announced in the Quillón district.
