The children’s theater of Yannis Christopoulos, continuing its successful 19-year run, is delighted to present for the 3rd consecutive season the most current Christmas story based on the well-known work of Charles Dickens “Scrooge and the holiday spirits”, with the popular comedian Yannis Captain Directed & Theatrical Adaptation by Kellys Stamoulakis.
The show comes to Patras and the Pantheon theater on Sunday, November 10.
The “Christmas story” has a special place in the bibliography of world literature. After all, Charles Dickens is considered one of the greatest writers of all time.
WHAT MESSAGE ARE YOUNG & OLDS RECEIVING?
The message that children take from the story of the greedy SCROOGE is very important, who, after the intervention of the three spirits who reveal to him the ugliness of his life, transforms into a good-natured man who wants to share his wealth with his fellow men. Especially in these difficult times in which we live and we must support each other to survive, the message of the great Dickens seems more compelling and necessary.
A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE PROJECT
Christmas 1843, Ebenezer Scrooge is a stingy, avaricious loan shark who hates Christmas and the holidays and all they stand for.
On the night of the eve SCROOGE receives an uninvited visit from a spirit, his former partner JACOB MARLEY miserly and miserable like SCROOGE. He warns him that if he doesn’t change his way of thinking by seeing things more pleasantly with a different eye, he will end up like him condemned to eternal torment…
That same night three more spirits will visit the grumpy and selfish SCROOGE, those of past, present and future Christmases… and point out his mistakes…
After this experience, Christmas Day dawns to find a different SCROOGE….

**Interview with Yannis Christopoulos: The Man Behind the Christmas Magic**
**Editor**: Yannis, it’s wonderful to have you here. As we approach the premiere of your children’s theater adaptation of “Scrooge and the Holiday Spirits,” can you tell us what inspired you to bring this classic story to life for the third consecutive season?
**Yannis Christopoulos**: Thank you for having me! “A Christmas Carol” has always held a special place in my heart. Charles Dickens has an unparalleled way of highlighting the importance of compassion and generosity, values that are particularly vital in today’s world. I believe revisiting this story allows both young and old to reflect on their own lives and the impact they can have on others.
**Editor**: That’s a powerful message, especially in challenging times. How do you think this adaptation resonates with children today?
**Yannis Christopoulos**: The transformation of Scrooge is unmistakably relevant. Children can learn about kindness, empathy, and the importance of sharing. They witness how one person’s change can influence a community. During the performance, there’s an interactive element that engages them, allowing them to become part of the story, which deepens their understanding of the themes.
**Editor**: Sounds exciting! What can the audience expect from the production directed by Kellys Stamoulakis?
**Yannis Christopoulos**: Audiences can look forward to a vibrant production filled with humor and heart. Kellys has a unique vision that brings out the whimsy of the story while maintaining its seriousness. The combination of music, laughter, and poignant moments will cater to all ages, making it a perfect family outing for the holiday season.
**Editor**: And it takes place at the Pantheon theater in Patras on November 10. Is there anything else you would like to share with your audience?
**Yannis Christopoulos**: Yes! I encourage everyone to come and experience the magic of the holidays with us. This show isn’t just for kids; it’s a delightful reminder for adults, too. Together, we can celebrate community and the spirit of giving, just as Scrooge learns to do. I can’t wait to see everyone there!
**Editor**: Thank you, Yannis. We’re looking forward to the performance!
