Scotland Ladies take legal action against the Football Association

British media reported on Friday that the Scotland women’s national football team has begun legal action once morest the local governing body over equal pay and working conditions.

Captain Rachel Corsey, the lead plaintiff in the court case, told BBC Scotland there were “many examples” of players feeling they were not being adequately resourced.

“We want to see change going forward,” she said.

“Our women’s national team shares the same fundamental view that equality must be at the heart of the development of sport at all levels,” the Scottish Football Association said in a statement.

“We remain committed to accelerating the growth of girls’ and women’s football,” he added in a statement.

The news comes months following the US women’s soccer team and the US Soccer Federation agreed to resolve a years-long dispute over equal pay in what the players described as a historic moment for the sport.
