It was a shock for all Scorpions fans in Germany. Lead guitarist Matthias Jabs sustained such a serious injury that all of the band’s planned concerts in Germany in September had to be cancelled (read more here >>>). This included the planned show on September 18th in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne.

For a long time it was unclear whether the Scorpions concerts could be rescheduled or whether they would have to be cancelled without replacement. Now there is news for all ticket holders. Fans will not be happy to hear it, however.

Scorpions concert in Cologne: dream shattered

“I’m sorry that the concerts in September cannot take place, but I’m confident that we’ll see each other again soon.” With these words, Matthias Jabs reported from his wheelchair on Wednesday (September 4). He said he had broken his heel and two fractures to his little finger when he fell down the stairs on Sylt. Playing concerts in this situation? Impossible! Nevertheless, his words gave hope for a possible rescheduled date for the canceled Cologne concert.

This is what happens with the Scorpions tickets

“We can only assure our fans how much we regret this cancellation and how sad we are to have to disappoint them right now, at the height of our 2024 world tour,” the Scorpions said. Although the concerts are being canceled, the band is all the more looking forward to “seeing our fans again in 2025 at our 60th Scorpions band anniversary.”
