In the city of Varanasi, under the chairmanship of the Indian side, a meeting of the heads of tourism administrations of the SCO member states was held. On behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Deputy Minister-Director of the Department of Tourism Samat Shatmanov took part, the press service of the MKISIMP KR reports.
“At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the current state, prospects and initiatives of cooperation between the SCO member states in the field of tourism, where the participants declared their readiness to promote the sustainable development of tourism in the SCO member states. The agenda of the meeting included issues related to the current state and cooperation of the SCO member states in the field of tourism.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Samat Shatmanov spoke regarding the potential of tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic, also stressed that the main goal of the state is to create favorable conditions for the work of organizations and enterprises in the tourism industry, the formation of a modern legislative and regulatory framework that ensures the development of activities in this area.
In addition, Samat Shatmanov noted that the SCO creates a unique platform for the exchange of views on further promoting economic cooperation and partnership in the field of tourism promotion, and stressed the need to continue joint work with the Secretariat to establish coordinated and effective cooperation among the SCO member states in the field of tourism.
During the meeting, the participants signed a number of official documents, which they adopted for further joint work within the SCO.”
