Cause of unexplained hepatitis
Despite the fact that scientists are working on large-scale studies, the exact causes and conditions for the occurrence of mysterious hepatitis have not been identified. All of the sick children tested negative for hepatitis A, B, C, D, E and F. The likelihood that the disease was caused by covid or a coronavirus vaccine is also unlikely, scientists say.
Wherein many of the children with hepatitis were found to have adenovirus. In this regard, researchers consider one of the main versions of the occurrence of unexplained hepatitis to be a coinfection of an adeno-associated virus and an adeno- or herpes helper virus.
Among the versions sounded and one more – that mysterious hepatitis linked to potential toxic agents (metals or organic compounds) that children may have obtained from the environment or food. For example, aflatoxins have been confirmed to have strong hepatotoxicity that can cause acute severe liver injury in humans. But scientists propose to investigate this version further.
