Events for young and old

Celebrated since 1991, the Fête de la Science allows families, schoolchildren, students, amateurs and science enthusiasts to participate in numerous activities around scientific culture, in an approach that is both fun and festive. It also offers the opportunity to thousands of scientific, cultural and educational actors to share with the public their enthusiasm for science, technology and innovations.

Held every year in October, the festival will take place this year from October 4 to 14with the theme “Ocean of knowledge”, echoing current events, marked by the Year of the Sea.

In Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, the Fête de la Science is coordinated by Instant Science, in partnership with the Region. The program promises to be particularly rich and varied, with more than 1,000 free activities offered in all departments. A science village in Avignon

On October 5, the Clock Square will host around thirty stands to help you discover and appreciate science. A variety of activities will be offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., focusing on biodiversity, birds, insect microscope observation, flora and fauna, as well as physics experiments. It will also be the ideal opportunity to meet local researchers.

A large science market in Caromb

On October 12 and 13, the Caromb village hall will host a large science marketwith a host of animations on fundamental sciences, techniques and their applications in various fields. You will be able to discover, discuss, experiment and manipulate! This year again, alongside researchers and mediators, pupils and students will be keen to help you discover mathematics, algorithms… See you both days from 10am to 6pm.

Activities at the Sorgues media library

Throughout the duration of the Science Festival, the Sorgues media library will offer various activities: exhibitions, workshops, screenings, visits, storytelling walks, etc. On October 12, a special Science Festival murder party will close these events.
