Schwarzenegger’s legendary watch was auctioned for 270,000 euros
Going (OTS) – “There are many things to be happy regarding tonight: the great food, the exceptional atmosphere, the great company and of course the fact that we are all helping to make a positive impact on the world,” welcomed Arnold Schwarzenegger welcomed his guests at the “Special Dinner for Climate Action” in the Stanglwirt on Thursday, January 18. The event took place for the third time before the legendary Hahnenkamm race and raised an incredible sum of 1.31 million euros for a clean future. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s customs adventure had a happy ending: what was probably the most famous watch in the world was auctioned off for 270,000 euros.
“I have been personally committed to greater climate and environmental protection for more than 30 years, and I am happy regarding every single person who is taking this path with us. I am very happy regarding this incredible sum,” emphasized Monika Langthaler, Director of Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative.
Around 160 guests enjoyed the entertaining evening and the auction – including US Climate Envoy John Kerry, Felix Neureuther, Mark Keller, Ralf Moeller, Barbara Meier, The BossHoss and the magical duo Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass, who amazed everyone with their performance brought. Works of art, signed unique pieces and jewelry went under the hammer. One of the most sought-following auction items was a personal training session with Arnold Schwarzenegger himself, a living room concert by The BossHoss and a day on the set of “Bergdoktor”.
“People often ask me how I can still smile when I think regarding our environment. It’s simple: despite the much work that still lies ahead in the fight once morest pollution, I also see all the progress that has been made. We’ve come so far. And so many people are here today to be part of the solution,” said Schwarzenegger. At the end of the dinner, Schwarzenegger emphasized: “We all have to give back and change the world. Today our supporters helped create a cleaner, healthier future. I thank everyone who joins me in my fight once morest pollution.”
The proceeds from the evening go to the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative. Among other things, it organizes the annual international climate conference AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT in Vienna, which presents concrete solutions from all over the world and connects climate heroes from all over the world. The initiative also supports selected climate projects around the world.
