Sports journalist Ahmed Schubert revealed the desire of the Egyptian club’s board of directors to include Mohamed Sobhi, the Zamalek goalkeeper loaned to Farco, which paves the way for the departure of his son, Mustafa Schubert, from the team.
Farco Club had contracted with Mohamed Sobhi during the last summer transfer period from Zamalek on loan for a season for 5 million pounds, with the right to buy for 20 million pounds.
Schubert said, during his radio program, on Monday, that Farco Club has not yet officially activated the purchase clause in Mohamed Sobhi’s contract, but the management of the newly promoted club in the Premier League aims to do so before the end of the current season.
He pointed out that “Al-Ahly felt the pulse of goalkeeper Muhammad Sobhi during the past few days, to find out his position on joining the Red Team next summer.”

He added, “Al-Ahly may buy Mohamed Sobhi from Pharco following activating the purchase clause, so that he will pay an amount ranging from 25 to 30 million pounds, and then the Orange Club will benefit by obtaining 5 to 10 million pounds, as a result of activating the clause in its contract with Zamalek.”
Schubert concluded his statements, stressing that if Sobhi joins Al-Ahly, the two goalkeepers will leave the team, without specifying them, so that one of them is for final sale and the other is on loan.
Although Schubert did not specify the name of the two goalkeepers, speculation is centered on the departure of the duo, Mustafa Schubert on loan, and Ali Lotfi on the final sale, following the latter notified the Al-Ahly administration of his desire to leave at the end of the current season.
Al-Ahly’s goalkeeper suffers under his main goalkeeper, Mohamed El-Shennawy, following he received the 31st goal in 32 matches with the Red Team this season, and El-Shennawy failed to keep a clean sheet in only 10 matches.
Al-Ahly club fell in its last match in the Premier League once morest Pyramids, with a score of two goals without a response, in the match between the two teams at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the twenty-fifth round of the competition.
Al-Ahly is in third place in the Premier League table with 48 points, 9 points behind Zamalek, the leader in the standings, but Al-Ahmar has two matches postponed in the tournament.
Al-Ahly will face its counterpart Zamalek, on Thursday, July 21, in the match that will be held at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the Egypt Cup final in its last edition 2021.
