The consecration, therefore, will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
As far as professors and teachers are concerned, the start of the school year will start a little earlier. In order to complete the necessary preparations, teachers will return to schools on Monday, September 2.
What time does the consecration start?
At 08:15 the first bell rings for the traditional consecration throughout Greece in most primary schools. On the other hand, Gymnasiums and High Schools start a little later. The exact time of the consecration is sent by the schools to the parents at the beginning of September.
What changes in schools from September
The Digital School digitalschool.gov.gr provides online courses for students living in remote island or mountainous areas, where establishing schools is not feasible.
At the same time, the MySchool platform will be redesigned and upgraded, while a new platform called eParents will be launched, to which parents and guardians can refer. In addition, the Digital Tutorial will operate for additional support.
The app will provide an open channel of communication between parents and the school in real time. Through the application there is the possibility to:
- Update on announcements and notifications
- Electronic notification of the student’s grades and absences
- Consulting services – meeting planning
- Online communication via video call
- Monitoring the calendar of events and activities of the school/class/department
The departure of Primary School students attending the upgraded All-Day Primary School program will take place at 15:50, at the end of the second teaching hour of the 2nd zone, or at 17:30, at the end of the program.
Furthermore, it is possible to leave at 14:55, at the end of the 1st teaching hour of the 2nd zone. Otherwise, the schedule remains the same, with students having class from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
The program for Kindergartens
Morning Reception Department: operates 7.45-8.30, with arrival time 7.45-8.00.
Morning Compulsory Section: 8.30-13.00, with arrival time 8.15-8.30 and departure time 13.00. Optional afternoon Full-day session: 13.00-16.00, with departure time 16.00. Upgraded optional Program of the All-Day Kindergarten: 16.00-17.30, with departure time 17.30.
