Between registrations, re-registrations, transfers and purchasing supplies, the Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, in charge of civic education, Camélia Ntoutoume Leclercq, draws the attention of the educational community for a less stressful return to school.
In a press release, the Minister responsible for National Education recalls that “in his desire to restore the institutions of the republic, to restore dignity to the Gabonese and to allow access to school for all, the president of the transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, initiated a policy of free education within our education system”she assured.
This free service particularly concerns registration fees, re-registration fees and school fees for students sent by the State to public and private sector schools, insists Camélia Ntoutoume Leclercq, who also does not forget to point out that this free service also concerns school textbooks in pre-primary and primary schools, with the introduction of new textbooks. ”Super Efficient” in 4th et 5th year, she says.
For this 2024-2025 school year, the provision of these textbooks is planned to take place during the period from October to December 2024 and will initially concern middle school students, particularly those in grade 6.th et 5thas well as those in classes 4thonly for the Spanish manual, we learn.
In consideration of all these details, the supervisory minister “strongly recommends that parents refrain from purchasing any pre-primary, primary, or grade 6 textbooksth et 5th from college, including those at level 4th in Spanish, before those currently being developed are made available”she warned.
The effective start of the school year is set for September 2 for the entire network of public and private schools. The end of the 2024-2025 school year, at the end of the third quarter (from March 17 to May 31, 2025) and all exams and competitions, is scheduled for June 21, 2025 (for classes of 3th) and June 30, 2025 (for final year classes).
Pre-primary, primary and non-exam classes will go on vacation from May 31, 2025, after the third-quarter report cards have been issued across the country.
