School garden implemented as part of the Healthy School strategy

Asuncion, IP Agency.- With the participation of fourth and sixth grade students and teachers from the San Ramón de Hernandarias school, Alto Paraná, the school garden was launched, within the framework of the Healthy School strategy, promoting health education, environmental care and food security from an early age.

With the support of their teachers, the students prepared the land and began growing various vegetables.

This project was carried out after training provided by the Agriculture and Livestock Department of the Municipality of Hernandarias, in collaboration with the Health Promotion Department of the District Hospital.

During the training, the students received guidance on how to organize a vegetable garden and the processes of growing seeds. They then put into practice what they had learned by sowing lettuce seeds in plots designated for the project.

In addition, students received seeds as a gift to continue with their crops and were given a lettuce plant in a plastic pot, prepared by themselves. This approach seeks to allow them to replicate what they have learned at home and acquire skills to grow vegetables at home.
