On the subject of useless knowledge (“What do we need to know?”, SN September 2):
What was stated in the weekend supplement of the SN on curriculum and school efficiency can only be emphasized. The crucial point, however, was not addressed: the unsuitable organization of schools and classes under the erroneous ideology that everyone should know the same thing at the same time (we’re not even talking about ability).
The age-old classification of people according to age, education according to subjects and time according to timetables is the cause of all current problems. If every educational place offered courses and projects according to its resources, all learners could acquire standardized standards according to their style. Everything could be good.
