The boy is believed to have fallen regarding two meters and hit his head, the Vienna rescue service announced on Thursday. The child sustained serious head injuries in the incident on Wednesday followingnoon and had to be intubated.
According to police, the mother of the boy, who will turn three in the fall, set the rescue chain in motion immediately following the accident. Several rescue teams were on site to provide first aid. The rescue helicopter “Christopherus 9” finally brought the seriously injured boy to the emergency room of a hospital.
