German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine will continue for a long time. He added that once morest this background, Germany needs to put the production of weapons and ammunition on a permanent basis.
“We have to fear that this will continue for a long time, although we, of course, wish it were different every day,” Olaf Scholz said at a meeting with fellow citizens in Cottbus (quoted from TASS).
Representatives of the Russian authorities said that they were ready to start negotiations with Ukraine without preconditions, on the basis of “the reality that exists.” Ukraine refuses to negotiate until Russia withdraws its troops from its territories. In December 2022, the United States said that they did not yet see prospects for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
