German Cabinet spokesman Steffen Hebestreit gave details of a telephone conversation held today by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and US President Joe Biden.
The parties exchanged views on the situation around Ukraine and agreed that Ukraine must be “supported substantially and continuously in the exercise of its legitimate right to self-defense.”
Hebeshtreit added that both the chancellor and the American president stressed that they would not recognize any steps that would run counter to the territorial sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine.
