Over the years, around 300 students have benefited from this benefit, many of whom are recipients today.

Twelve students from Medicine were awarded with the delivery of three scholarships granted by the Network of Grantees of the University of La Fronterathrough the Medical College, the Traumatology Service of the Hernán Henríquez Aravena Hospital, and the Surgery Service of the Hernán Henríquez Aravena Hospital and the University Surgery Unit.

This is the second year in a row that these three scholarships have been awarded jointly, which already have around 300 students who have benefited over the years, many of whom are recipients today.

The award ceremony was attended by the scholarship students, university authorities, academics and doctors representing the recipients. On the occasion, Rector Eduardo Hebel Weiss highlighted that: “The most important thing is that these students who receive this support see it as a possibility for the future, to also give back to society what they are receiving, therefore, for the UFRO is essential for this type of gesture that magnifies the Faculty of Medicine, the services and people they are supporting, it is a tremendous recognition for the students”.

In addition, the university authority added: “Hopefully we have a much broader, more generous Network of Grantees, to reinforce the careers of the health sciences, and also to all the careers of the University.”

Dr. Belén Rodríguez Rodríguez, secretary of the Board of Directors of La Araucanía of the Chilean Medical Association, also highlighted this initiative, noting that: “We believe that it is a fundamental value among our union to be able to support our colleagues and future colleagues, which is why we are very comforted to be here and to be able to once once more benefit students that we know have to face a very difficult and challenging career”.

NETWORK OF DONATORIES/OS

The scholarships of the Grantee Network are promoted and managed by the Student Aid and Support Coordination of the Student Welfare Division, belonging to the Student Development Department. They consist of contributions from groups of professionals graduated from the University or external, in some cases even international, who join efforts to support students of the University of La Frontera.

Today there are eight scholarships in total, which only in the year 2022 benefited more than fifty students of the University, and each year they continue to add benefits and new beneficiaries.
