Scholarship professionals in Argentina return to work in nuclear medicine centers in Bolivia

Scholarship professionals specializing in the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, returned to Bolivia to strengthen the network of nuclear medicine centers, informed the executive director of the Bolivian Nuclear Energy Agency (ABEN), Hortensia Jiménez.

“With the incorporation of these professionals to the staff of the Center for Nuclear Medicine, an important leap will be taken to provide adequate care for patients in the area of ​​nuclear diagnosis,” said Jiménez.

The director of ABEN reported that there are four fellows who successfully completed their studies specializing in nuclear medicine.

The doctors are: Henry Diego Patty Flores, Rosario Pamela Urquieta Ovando, Risselly María Balboa Morón and Gaby Ángulo Montaño.

The director stressed that specialization in nuclear medicine is “extremely” important in the country that advances in this technology and requires professionals in this area.

“It is not only regarding incorporating infrastructure, it is not only regarding state-of-the-art technology in the nuclear issue, but also in parallel, we have to train the right people so that they can use the equipment and really respond to the population,” he explained.

The professionals will carry out their functions in the Nuclear Medicine centers of El Alto and Santa Cruz, which are expected to start activities this month.

The doctors, for their part, expressed their satisfaction at completing their studies and their excitement because they will be able to contribute their acquired knowledge to the service of the population.
