Schallmeiner/Greens: Instead of badmouthing, we implement concrete measures for patients

Immediate healthcare reform measures are already having an impact

Vienna (OTS) – Ralph Schallmeiner, health spokesman for the Greens, is delighted with the initial successes of the immediate health reform package that became known today: “More doctors are interested in the new health insurance offices and also the regular ‘run’ on the possibility of establishing primary care units confirms that the support measures are effective and that the path taken is the right one.”

The badmouthing of the measures by the FPÖ health spokesman Kaniak is therefore out of place. “Instead of fairly evaluating the measures taken, the FPÖ is complaining. And this from the very party whose last health minister tried to destroy social security instead of making policy in the interests of patients,” Schallmeiner is irritated by Kaniak’s criticism and explains: “All of the FPÖ’s proposals are solely about strengthening private medicine and towards more elective doctors. The ‘little people’ that the FPÖ supposedly cares about would have nothing to do with it. We, on the other hand, act according to the principle of ‘eCard instead of credit card’: All patients benefit from measures such as support for new businesses and takeovers of ordinations, digitalization in the health system, additional cash registers or the promotion of primary care units – regardless of their wallet,” explains Schallmeiner .
