“Scania Latvia” has successfully concluded one of the biggest deals in the company’s history, delivering 80 new trucks to the international multimodal logistics company “Samskip”. On the other hand, in order to provide the drivers of the new cars with the necessary knowledge, the driver training master of “Scania Latvia” Gints Vārtukapteinis will go to the Netherlands together with the new trucks. The transaction marks a significant step in the cooperation between the two companies, strengthening the position of “Scania Latvia” in the European market.
“Over the past ten years, we have worked diligently to strengthen our relationship with the international multimodal logistics company Samskip, and now we have successfully implemented one of the most significant projects in the company’s history. This transaction is a testament to our long-term approach and ability to adapt to challenges to provide customers with the highest quality solutions ,” comments Aigars Pušinskis, member of the board of Scania Latvia.
The new trucks that “Scania Latvia” supplies to the logistics company “Samskip” include three different models: 4×2 standard tractors, 4×2 bulk cargo tractors, or “mega”, as well as 6×4 tractors, which are designed for heavier loads and containers. For additional cars, “Scania Latvia” also provides full technical support, which includes additional equipment (tool boxes, fire extinguishers, etc.), documentation and certification, as well as driver training, which will be carried out both in the Netherlands and in Latvia.
Training in the Netherlands will be conducted “Scania Latvia” driver training master Gints Vārtukapteinis, which will ensure that drivers are fully prepared to work with the new trucks. In addition, all tractors are equipped with the latest technologies, ensuring a high level of safety and comfort for drivers.
“Our goal is not only to offer the highest quality vehicles, but also full service and support, so that our customers can fully focus on their business,” comments Aigars Pušinskis, member of the board of Scania Latvia.
On the other hand, the goal of “Samskip” is to restore the fleet in Germany and the Benelux region, where until recently only half of the ordered volume was operating. In this way, the company has provided both new jobs and, thanks to this transaction, new vehicles with the most advanced technologies for driving and safety functions.
“The main focus right now is the renewal of the car fleet in Germany and the Benelux region. By restructuring the operation of the European regions, we have achieved the expansion of our vehicle fleet, reaching a total of less than 200 truck units, and with the new cooperation we are also able to ensure the necessary renovation of the vehicle fleet. Taking into account the opportunity to get a full service service, the remarkable “Scania” figures in fuel efficiency and how much these cars are popular among drivers, cooperation with “Scania Latvia” was a logical step. We are sure that it will help not only to implement our development plans, but also to strengthen our position in the European market,” comments Kaspars Rimša, head of the core business unit of “Samskip” Latvia.
