Scandal in Rosario: a deputy commissioner was arrested with two stolen cars and one had the license plate of a patrol car

The 12th Police Station of the Ludueña neighborhood where the detainee was deputy chief

A 42-year-old deputy commissioner was apprehended this Monday followingnoon in Rosario following he was found at his home two stolen vehicles in Buenos Aires with changed domains –one of them, with the patent of a patrol car out of service–. The officer currently served as deputy chief of the 12th sectional of Ludueña neighborhoodone of the most conflictive areas of crime in the city.

The investigation led by the provincial prosecutor Gonzalo Fernandez Bussy started from a complaint from last November regarding a lack of several vehicles from the car depot which is located in the southwestern area of Rosario, near the premises of the Ovidio Lagos Police Headquarters at 5200.

The absence of these vehicles was not reported. timely, according to a report from the Judicial Division of Regional Unit II. In addition, there were also fires in that car depot that, at least, caught the attention of the prosecutor, since neither found official data on those burned cars.

The person who appeared as head of that deposit was Iván A., the 42-year-old deputy commissioner now in prison, who had been removed from his function between February and March of this year. Later, he was assigned to the 7th Precinct and, later, to the 12th section, where he carried out tasks until this Monday. According to official sources, He will be removed from his post until his responsibility for the facts under investigation is determined.

This Monday, the prosecutor Fernández Bussy ordered the Judicial Division to search the house of Iván A. Inside, an Amarok truck and a Vento were found, for which the deputy commissioner was unable to provide documentation showing the purchase operations.

The numbers of the vehicles in the system yielded a surprising fact for the researchers: They were reported as stolen in the jurisdiction of Buenos Aires in 2019. A striking situation occurred with the Amarok truck. In addition to having been stolen, he had control of a police cell phone that appeared in the computer system as “out of service due to being unusable”.

Subcommissioner Iván A. had a criminal case filed for aggravated concealment and for breach of the duties of a public official. But given the result of the raid, he might also be charged with theftfor the theft of the license plate of a police van for personal use.

But he is not the only police under suspicion in the investigation of Fernández Bussy. There are ongoing measures to move forward with the responsibilities of other uniformed officers who, possibly, have participated in some alleged irregular maneuver with the vehicles of the automotive depot.

The 12th police station, under the magnifying glass

The sectional where Iván A. served as deputy chief was the subject of an inspection last Thursday ordered by Pablo Socca, another provincial prosecutor who entered the police building on the suspicion that an alleged drug trafficker had been detained there and the Public Ministry of the Accusation (MPA) had not been informed.

In this procedure, photocopies were made of the entry and exit books at the police station, and the list of officers who worked between May 14 and 17, a period that is under investigation, was also requested.

That same sectional was attacked with bullets on February 19 last. On that same day, they also fired on a motorcycle at the 24th sub-station, also located in the Northwest area of Rosario. Subsequently, there were raids and arrests with firearms.
