The first Eurovision semi-final will take place on May 7. The competitors of the Polish representative – Luna – will include: Ukrainian duo Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona. The artists will perform the song “Teresa & Maria” on stage.
Unlike Poland, Ukrainian women are among the favorites to win the entire competition, alongside Croatia, Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
Even before the Eurovision emotions began in earnest with the first semi-final, a recording from March was circulating on social media. On TikTok, Jerry Heil sings a fragment of the Eurovision song.
However, Poles were outraged not by what the singer did, but by what she was wearing. Heil wore a sweatshirt with the words “Banderaciaga” on it. The recording was unearthed by War News on May 7. “Tell me it’s a fake,” it was written.
A storm immediately broke out on social media. She spoke, among others: MP Anna Maria Żukowska. “And I won’t vote for Ukraine this time,” she commented. She then added that if Ukraine intends to promote such extreme figures as Bandera, they might quickly discourage the rest of Europe.
The sweatshirt with the inscription “Banderaciaga” is an official Balenciaga project.
On the manufacturer’s website we read: “Cristóbal Balenciaga had a reputation as a fashion designer with uncompromising standards, and Christian Dior called him ‘the best craftsman among us all.’ Stepan Bandera was also uncompromising in his fight, wanting the complete independence of the Ukrainian nation.

Born in 1995, Jerry Heil is a Ukrainian singer, songwriter and YouTuber. She was born in Wasylków, then moved to Kiev, where she studied at the Kiev State Music Institute. RM Gliera, and then studied at the Ukrainian Academy of Music.
She released her debut album – “Ja, Jana” – two years later. In 2020, she tried to get into Eurovision for the first time. Back then, I was still solo. However, the song “Vegan” did not gain enough popularity to bring success. Widbir took sixth place in the competition.
Her next attempt at Eurovision will be in 2022. She took third place with the song “When God Shut the Door”. Those eliminations were won by Alina Pash, who was disqualified for staying in Crimea shortly before the Ukrainian-Russian conflict began. Ultimately, Ukraine was represented by the Kalush Orchestra that year and won the entire competition.
After February 24, 2022, Heil also has several songs with Polish artists, including: with Przył, Gedz and Krystian Ochman. The singer also performed at several concerts in Poland.
In 2024, Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona were unrivaled in the Ukrainian Eurovision qualifiers. “Teresa & Maria” was composed by Anton Chilibi and Ivan Klymenko, and the lyrics were written by Alona and Jana.
