The delinquency in Peru, it always finds new ways to achieve its objectives and this time, through the story of “the false suitcase”, the Peruvian National Police (PNP) has managed to find the modus operandi of a criminal organization that was dedicated to extorting and scam multiple victims.

One of the aggrieved people is Dayana Quispe, who was asked the favor of receiving some suitcases from abroad. However, the criminals communicated with her posing as officials of the Jorge Chavez airport to tell him that one of the suitcases was overweight and that he had to pay a large fine to receive the suitcase.

Quispe then receives the request from the person abroad to lend her money and she agreed, granting two thousand soles of her savings and another 3 thousand soles of a loan with 20% interest. He never heard from them again.

“I feel bad more than anything for my savings. They were for my daughter. To this day I have run out of a sun,” said Dayana Quispe on Sunday’s D-Day.

Another of the people affected -who did not want to reveal his original name- is Fiorella, who was defrauded in a similar way and narrated that he deposited the delinquents the amount of 6 thousand soles.

Investigation

According to Colonel PNP José Cruz, head of the fraud division of the Dirincri, the criminal organization that scams with the story of “the false suitcase” would be led by Samuel Gonzalez Bailón alias ‘Rosgua’, who is imprisoned in Colombia.

Cruz also said that in 2023, 12 criminal gangs made up of 49 people including Colombians, Peruvians and Venezuelans have been arrested, who were engaged in extortion.

“So far this year there are 18 cases that we have received in this division. Last year there were 5 million 164 thousand (cases) with 231 thousand dollars and in 2021, 286 cases with 7 and a half million (dollars),” he added. the police officer.
