Sberbank is increasing mortgage rates from November 3. Representatives of the credit institution reported this to RBC.

“From November 3, Sber is changing mortgage rates for basic programs in connection with the increase on October 27 by the Bank of Russia of the key rate from 13% to 15% per annum. The minimum rate under programs for the purchase of finished and under construction housing will be 15.6% per annum,” RBC reports a message from Sberbank representatives.

According to Sberbank, rates on mortgage loans with state support do not change. The credit institution clarified that the minimum rate for the “State Support” program starts from 8% per annum, and for the “Family Mortgage” from 6% per annum.

Previously credit organizations began to raise rates following the decision of the Central Bank of Russia. The regulator raised the key rate to 12%. This was done in order to stop the sharp fall of the ruble.

It also became known that a number of Russian banks increased rates on mortgages and deposits – in particular, Otkritie banks, Sovcombank, and Tinkoff did this. Credit institutions refer to the actual price situation on the deposit market, which forced them to take these measures, transmits Tsargrad.
