“SBÄM” founder Stefan Beham is running for the Beer Party in Upper Austria

At the foot of the Danube Tower – in true beer garden style – the Beer Party, with founder Dominik Wlazny, presented its candidates for the National Council elections yesterday.

As far as the “menu”, i.e. the party programme, is concerned, the party remained largely vague, but Wlazny pointed out that the individual “menu items” would be published on the Beer Party’s website in the coming days. It was “a dynamic process” in which topics would be added again and again. However, people would “know exactly what the Beer Party stands for by the time of the election”.

“SBÄM” founder on the list

The Upper Austrian top candidate of the Beer Party comes from the cultural scene: Stefan Beham, founder of the punk rock concert organizer “SBÄM”, wants to correct “errors in the system”. This includes, for example, more transparency in funding and an easier application process. “Austria is more than just theater and opera.”
Small concert promoters and clubs in particular are struggling at the moment. Insolvency proceedings were opened against “SBÄM” in autumn 2023, but these have not yet been completed.
