Say goodbye to Bethesda’s own launcher, members and games will migrate to Steam | 4Gamers

Bethesda confirmed through an announcement not long ago that its own game launcher “Bethesda.net Launcher” is regarding to close the service, and announced that its PC membership service will be migrated to the Steam platform.

According to the announcementBethesda.net launcher member accounts are expected to be transferred to Steam in early April, when the player member wallet, game library and DLC or in-game skins will be transferred together.

While the launcher will be shutting down, Bethesda.net accounts will still retain access to player data services, including in-game mods, skins, and merging of friend lists. Until May of this year, players can still open games such as “Fallout 76” through the Bethesda.net launcher, but following May, the launcher officially shuts down.

It is worth mentioning that in the official Q&A section, game archives are mentioned. Bethesda emphasizes that it will provide follow-up instructions on how to transfer game archives to Steam accounts. It is expected that all game archives can be transferred automatically or manually, but “Wolfenstein: Wolfenstein: Youngblood is currently unable to transfer save files and requires special attention.
