**Interview with Denny Yuda Kusuma: Creative Coordinator of Sawung Jabo & Circus Barock**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Denny. Your upcoming concert, “Life is Not Just Breathing,” sounds intriguing. Can you tell us what inspired the title of this concert?
**Denny Yuda Kusuma:** Thank you for having me! The title reflects a deeper philosophy that we want to convey through our music. It’s about not merely existing but truly living with purpose and meaning. We hope to inspire attendees to reflect on their lives beyond just survival and to seek out what gives them fulfillment.
**Editor:** That’s a profound message. You mentioned that each concert is different, even with the same songs. Could you elaborate on this?
**Denny Yuda Kusuma:** Absolutely! Each performance is a unique experience. While we may play the same songs, the arrangements, the atmosphere, and the emotions we convey can vary based on our current journey and the response from our audience. It’s about creating a moment in time that resonates differently with each group of listeners.
**Editor:** I understand that this concert will take place in Yogyakarta. Why did you choose this location?
**Denny Yuda Kusuma:** Yogyakarta is very special to us; it’s where Sawung Jabo began his artistic journey. The city itself is rich in culture and has been a nurturing ground for many artists. We believe it’s fitting to host our concert there, celebrating our roots while also looking towards the future.
**Editor:** How do you see the relationship between music and civilization, as you mentioned in your press conference?
**Denny Yuda Kusuma:** Music is a powerful reflection of society and culture. Each era’s music encapsulates its values, struggles, and dreams. By exploring and performing music, especially through the lens of the Barock Circus, we aim to engage with these themes and contribute to a greater understanding of our shared human experience.
**Editor:** That’s a beautiful perspective. What do you hope the audience will take away from this concert?
**Denny Yuda Kusuma:** I hope they’ll leave with a sense of contemplation and the encouragement to seek meaning in their lives. Our goal is for the concert to ignite passion and reflection, and perhaps inspire a commitment to live more intentionally.
**Editor:** Thank you, Denny, for sharing your insights with us. We look forward to the concert and the powerful message it will convey!
**Denny Yuda Kusuma:** Thank you! We’re excited to share this journey with everyone and hope to see many people there on November 6th!
