The board of directors of Savia Salud unanimously elected Lina María Bustamante Sánchez as managerwho had been serving as Secretary of Health of Antioquia since January 2020.
The decision was made after the resignation of the person in this position, Luis Gonzalo Moraleswho joined the presidential campaign of Federico Gutiérrez, despite the fact that his intention was to request an unpaid leave, which was not accepted.
Bustamante Sánchez’s nomination was made by the governor of Antioquia, Aníbal Gaviria Correa, who highlighted the excellent work of his former secretary, mainly in the attention of the pandemic against covid-19.
“The possession of Dr. Bustamante will take place this Monday, April 4 and among its main challenges will be to continue with the Modernization and Financial Reorganization Plan and the capitalization of the department’s largest subsidized EPS,” Savia Salud said in a press release.
Bustamante’s election to this position was made at a meeting last Friday and in which they participated: Luis Fernando Suárez (representative of the Mayor’s Office of Medellín and the Interior); Luz Elena Gaviria López and Nadya C. Naranjo Aguirre (for the Interior); Óscar De Jesús Hurtado Pérez and Julián Darío García Ramírez (for Mayor); and Jesús Arturo Aristizábal Guevara and Luis Alberto Botero Gutiérrez for Comfama.
After the departure of Morales, Dr. Héctor Mario Restrepo, who works as a doctor of the entity, had been left in charge of the management of this administrative entity of the subsidized regime.
The new manager of Savia Salud is a dentist by profession and is a specialist in quality management and health auditing. In addition, she worked as an advisor to this entity in 2015.
From the Government of Antioquia nor they have ruled on who will relieve Bustamante in the Ministry of Health.
